How to issue and recharge Hokkaido's representative transportation card Kitaka

In the last article, we looked at the fare of the subway and tram in Sapporo.

Japan is not as good as Korea,
I wrote that there is a transfer system through a transportation card.
In order to receive benefits, you need to create a transportation card, right?

In Japan, transportation cards are not integrated into one like T-money in Korea.
Different regions use different cards.
However, in recent years, there have been many cases where they are compatible with each other.

If you look all over Japan, there are dozens of transportation cards.
If you are going to travel to Hokkaido, it is good for us to know that
Suica and Pasmo are based around Tokyo and can be used as a nationwide ward.
And it is about Kitaka, which is based in Hokkaido.

Among them, Hokkaido's representative transportation card, KITAKA
Let's take a look at how to issue and recharge.

*Kitaka = The name is derived from the Japanese word "kita" meaning north and the word "ka" on the card.

Previously, you can pay through the Internet in Korea.
At home in Korea, Incheon Airport, New Chitose Airport, etc.
There was a way to pick it up,
Currently, JR Hokkaido seems to have blocked online sales.
(Expected to be a problem related to semiconductor supply and demand)

So now, the fastest way to get your hands on Kitaka when you arrive at the airport is
Go to the Domestic Terminal and go to JR New Chitose Airport Station on the first basement floor.
You can purchase it from a self-service ticket machine or through a staff member at a Midori counter.

Access from International Terminals to JR New Chitose Airport Station on the B1 floor of the Domestic Terminal (purchase Kitaka)

The price is 2,000 yen, and it can only be purchased in cash.
There is a basic charge of 1,500 yen and a deposit of 500 yen.
The deposit can be refunded when you return it to the Midori counter after the tour.
The remaining amount on the card can be refunded after deducting 220 yen.
(Refund up to 220 yen X)

However, the expiration date of the card is as long as 10 years.
Because it is usable in the place that is not Hokkaido
If you are thinking of coming to Japan next time
It would be okay to keep it in your wallet without getting a refund.

In the case of card recharge, you can do it yourself through the ticket machines and charging machines at each station.
You can also do this through a clerk at a convenience store.
If you say, "Kitaka Charge Onegaishimasu"
The clerk will be happy to assist you.

The card can only be charged with cash.
It is said that you can only charge up to 200,000 yen at a time.
Please refer to it.

In terms of the region as a whole, Hokkaido may not be a good place to use a transportation card.
As you can see in the image of the area above, except for the area around Sapporo,
This is because there are many areas where IC cards are not accepted.
But if your itinerary is crowded around the airport and Sapporo,
It is more convenient and reasonable to get a kitaka.
